![]() You read that right: You can get the megalodon into your park with the help of a mod. You only have to download the mod, install it and the water dinosaur swims around in your water basin. The mod ensures that your Mosasaurus turns into the megalodon. There are quite a few aquatic dinosaurs in Jurassic World Evolution 2. Namely:Īs you can see, the megalodon is not listed. That’s because it doesn’t officially exist in Jurassic World Evolution 2 . Fortunately, there is a hard-working modding community that can help in this case. How do I get the Megalodon in Jurassic World Evolution 2? The megalodon was at home in all waters, but apparently, its favorite oceans were warmer. What it really looked like in the past is controversial: some describe it as a gigantic great white shark, others suspect that it was more similar to a whale shark. ![]() In fact, the second animals the player will get access to are Triceratops, as if to push the point home. The megalodon is a species of shark that has long been extinct and probably lived around 3.6 or 2.6 million years ago. The water dinosaur, which belongs to the Otodontidae family, was at least 15 meters long and weighed a good 25 tons. This means it’s entirely possible to run poachers off simply by sending a dinosaur stampede directly at their vehicles. This is impressive enough as-is, but while fending off the poachers, the player can wrangle the animals to head in certain directions. The Dominion DLC adds a final Chaos Theory mode, one where the player personally creates a DFW-sponsored dinosaur sanctuary near Owen’s ranch in the Sierra Nevadas, and opens it to the public while personally fending off dinosaur poachers. Not only do they successfully create Jurassic World featuring a happy, healthy Indominus rex, not only do they open a working Jurassic Park to the public (granted, without Nedry’s sabotage this time, but still), but they create a working Jurassic Park San Diego – something that’s presented as a truly horrible, dangerous idea both in The Lost World and by Ian Malcolm in-game, but the player pulls it off anyway. The player accomplishes more than anyone else could for several of the Chaos Theory modes. The Edmontosaurus and Maiasaura are particularly curious as they will occasionally engage in bucking behavior with one another, not unlike wild horses do today when defending themselves from predators or territory from others of their own species. Some will playfully shove each other or gnaw on each other’s horns, while others may just rub up against each other or briefly chase one another. Each species have their own unique social interacting animations that just makes them feel all the more like living, breathing animals. The first thing the camera shows is a Giant Foot of Stomping as it calmly makes its way out of the Hatchery and then rises and moves to an over-the-shoulder view of the rex looking out over its new territory, while the ominous Ethereal Choir from the very beginning of the original movie heralds the arrival of the island's true queen. Credit goes to the Tyrannosaurus, as well. ![]() The Allosaurus, Liopleurodon, and Mosasaurus animations are particularly memorable for the Allosaurus, one of them appears to be so anxious to escape it starts desperately shoving the door out of its way, while both the Liopleurodon and Mosasaurus are framed in a pretty foreboding way as they are released into the lagoon.

While Trace is thrust into his adventure via a catastrophic lab accident ( in the vein of Half-Life and countless other sci-fi stories), Indra is proactively exploring an alien landscape to rescue her missing daughter. Rather than continuing Trace's story in the alien world of Sudra, the sequel features a new protagonist, Indra, with a deeply personal motivation. In addition to the new mechanics and inspirations, Axiom Verge 2's narrative features something of a tonal shift in terms of its storytelling. Enemies can hijacked, slowed down, and rendered vulnerable in other various ways depending on how the hacking system is used. Giving players more options than a straightforward binary adjustment system opens up the game in a number of ways. Axiom Verge's glitching system was a revelation, both in terms of combat and puzzle solving, and remains one of the most distinctive systems seen in a modern metroidvania title. There is still a sense of continuity between the two titles, however. Even though both games are metroidvanias, Axiom Verge 2 often feels more like a stealth and puzzle title than a more combat-oriented platformer, as was the case with the original Axiom Verge. Instead, players will need to rely on a menu-based hacking system to co-opt and corrupt enemies. While players can find a ranged weapon in the form of the Gishru boomerang in Axiom Verge 2, the high-caliber sci-fi armaments that typified Axiom Verge's arsenal are noticeably absent. The hacking mechanic is inspired by the glitching mechanic in AV1 though it's a bit more detailed and the effects are menu-driven choices instead of being a binary 'glitched or not-glitched.'"Ī Link to the Past's primary influences are mechanical rather than thematic Axiom Verge 2 has players bouncing back-and-forth between two overlapping worlds for puzzle solving and navigation. The next biggest difference is the lack of projectile weapons. "The biggest difference is probably two overlapping worlds. Happ mentioned three primary changes to the new game's formula. Unlike most sequels that simply build on the systems of their predecessors, Axiom Verge 2 features several notable departures from the original Axiom Verge. A Link to the Past, one of the best-known and most highly regarded entries in Nintendo's Legend of Zelda franchise, tells a story across two versions of the same overworld via fantasy magic. It isn't hard to guess how such a story could incorporate themes and mechanics from Horizon Zero Dawn, which also deals with extinction, transhumanism, and geological scales of time, but the first influence Happ mentioned seems like a bit of an outlier. Both of Happ's titles and Reynolds' works incorporate huge spans of time, near-ubiquitous nanotechnology, and space opera themes akin to those found in the Mass Effect franchise. The works of Alastair Reynolds, an astronomer and physicist turned hard sci-fi and space opera author, can be considered the connective tissue between both games. There's also some Alastair Reynolds influence in there - as with AV1, the preponderance of nanotech zooming around like little bugs, and minds separating or merging with those of others." ![]() "It's got a lot of A Link to the Past in its DNA, and some inspiration for the robot hacking from Horizon Zero Dawn. Many of the same themes are present in Axiom Verge 2, though the game also owes a debt to some new influences.
